Greetings to all,

I was born in Bronx, NY. My parents were from Quebradillas.  My dad played guitar and cuatro.  He also made the instruments.  I have always loved to hear aguinaldos and jibaro music.  I speak and read Spanish, but have difficulty writing it.  Since retirement, I have been thinking have been thinking of playing the cuatro.  I came accross the beautiful sounds of the cuatro on YouTube.  There aren't any cuatro players that I know of in the Seattle area.  However, your great website gives me a touch of my roots.  Not playing any instruments before, I am starting out from basic 101.  I am encouraged by all the positive posts.

Thank you, Joe Rosario

Good to have you JOE, I myself am from NY, from BK actually and I have family in the Bronx. It has been some time since I have been up there though. I wish you the best of luck in your quest to learn this instrument as I am trying to learn it as well.

If you are a Hector Lavoe fan like I am, join this site FOR FREE www.hectorlavoe.com/forum

Here we talk about everything and especially about Hector's legacy. Him and Yomo Toro are the main reason I wanted to learn to play (of course besides family influence).
